About me
PhD and Master’s degree in Chemical Science and Technology from the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), and Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH). Research focused on the synthesis and biological evaluation of selenium- and tellurium-based compounds with antimicrobial and antiviral activity.
Experience in scientific research, higher education, and the development of novel bioactive molecules. Founding member and national secretary of OWSD-Honduras. Research interests include medicinal chemistry, organic synthesis, multidrug-resistant microorganisms, and 3D spheroid infection models.
I hold a PhD in Chemical Science and Technology from the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), Brazil, where my research focused on the synthesis and biological evaluation of organochalcogenides and organochalcogenurans with antimicrobial and antiviral properties. I also hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Science and Technology from UFABC and a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH).
My experience includes scientific research, higher education, and the development of novel bioactive molecules. I am a founding member and currently serve as the national secretary of the Honduran chapter of the Organization for Women in Science in the Developing World (OWSD-Honduras).
My research interests include medicinal chemistry, organic synthesis, and the biological assessment of selenium- and tellurium-containing compounds, with emphasis on activity against multidrug-resistant microorganisms and infection models using 3D spheroid cell culture systems.
