Dr. Valeria del Valle Pfaffen is an Independent Researcher at CONICET and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, National University of Córdoba, Argentina. Her research focuses on electroanalytical chemistry, chemometrics, and the development of green sensing technologies for monitoring emerging contaminants in water systems. She is actively involved in research, teaching, and the supervision of students and young researchers.

Dr. Valeria del Valle Pfaffen is an Independent Researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, National University of Córdoba, Argentina. She coordinates the Research Group on Interface Electrochemistry, Sensors and Chemometrics at the Institute for Research in Physical Chemistry of Córdoba (INFIQC, CONICET–UNC), dedicated to the study of electrochemical systems at liquid/liquid interfaces, sensors and biosensors, nanostructures, and functional materials with applications in health and environment.
Her work focuses on analytical and electroanalytical chemistry, chemometrics, and the development of sustainable technologies for the detection of emerging contaminants in environmental and biological matrices. Her research integrates advanced electrochemical techniques, experimental design, and multivariate statistical modeling for the optimization and validation of analytical methods applied to environmental monitoring.
Throughout her career, she has developed innovative methodologies for the determination of contaminants in aquatic systems and other complex matrices, contributing to water quality monitoring and the study of remediation processes. She has also worked on the development of low-impact alternative electrodes and on the application of chemometric tools for chemical data analysis.
She has led and participated in nationally funded research projects, the results of which have been disseminated through scientific publications and presentations at conferences. She also collaborates with interdisciplinary groups on topics related to chemical analysis, environment, and health.
In the academic field, she maintains an intensive teaching activity at undergraduate and graduate levels in areas of analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and statistical methods applied to chemical sciences. She has supervised undergraduate and graduate theses, mentored students and researchers in training, and contributed to the development of highly qualified human resources in the field of chemical sciences.
