My present research work is focused in the area of natural product biochemistry, in this regard have been geared towards investigating of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant some indigenous greens most especially those that are used in local therapy with contribution to the management of inflammation related disorders and ailments with very high antioxidant activities as dietary supplements and for the prevention of diseases such as cancer, coronary heart disease and even altitude sickness. I also engaged in isolation and partial purification of active metabolites of these plants in order to evaluate the biochemical effects of the plant metabolite(s) on certain serum/plasma parameters especially with view of ascertaining the possible mechanism of these active metabolites. Most often the toxic effects of these therapeutic plants were investigated on biochemical parameters in animals to evaluate their safety for consumption. and
