Dr. Cecilia Nireti Fakorede
About me
I studied Microbiology at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and graduated with second class honours (upper division) in 1994.
I started work as a Laboratory Research Officer at International Breweries Plc, in 1995. I had my M.Sc. degree in Microbiology with distinction in 2006 at OAU, Ile-Ife. I left International Breweries Plc as the Acting Quality Control Manager in 2011 when I started my Ph.D. programme which I completed in 2015. I started lecturing at Oduduwa University Ipetumodu in 2017 as a lecturer 1 and currently, an associate Professor.
Dr. Cecilia Nireti Fakorede was born on 31st January, 1968. A native of Igbara-Odo Ekiti town in Ekiti State, Southwest, Nigeria in Africa.
A graduate of Microbiology from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with Second Class Honours ( Upper Division) in 1994. M.Sc. and Ph.D. also in Microbiology from yhe same institution, 2006 and 2015 respectively. I have supervised over 100 of undergraduate project works in environmental, public health and bioremediation areas of Microbiology. Currently supervising five M.Sc. research works on antibiotic resistance of isolated coliform bacteria in well waters and detection of plasmids responsible for the resistance in their genome.
