Dr Esther Babatunde
About me
Dr. Esther O. Babatunde is a researcher, academic mentor, and faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Her areas of specialisation include sustainable energy and environmental engineering, with particular emphasis on clean fuels, catalysis, seed oil utilisation, and biomass valorisation. She obtained her Master’s and doctoral degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. She subsequently received the Global Excellence Award for postdoctoral research at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. In recognition of her scholarly contributions, she received the University of Ilorin Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Q1 journal publications on two consecutive occasions in 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions.
Dr. Babatunde has secured several competitive research grants, including Institution-Based Research grants and TETFund National Research Fund grants. Her research focuses on developing innovative catalytic processes for sustainable energy production and advancing clean energy technologies. She has published numerous articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals, making significant contributions to sustainable energy and environmental research. Her scholarly work has enhanced scientific understanding and supported the global transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy systems.
