Mariana Silva Ferreira is a Brazilian biologist with a PhD in Ecology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and an adjunct professor there. With expertise in tropical ecology, she focuses on marsupial ecology and conservation and tropical forest restoration. She has authored over 30 articles and advised over 40 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students.
Mariana Silva Ferreira is an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She holds a bachelor's and master's degrees in Ecology from UFRJ and a PhD in Ecology from UFRJ/University of Sydney (Australia). She served as a professor in the Professional Master's program in Environmental Sciences and the undergraduate program in Biological Sciences (emphasis in Ecology) at Veiga de Almeida University (UVA - 2016-2022), as a substitute professor in the Department of Ecology and Marine Resources at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO - 2024-2025), and as director and coordinator of scientific communication at the Institute for Capacity Exchange in Environmental Decisions (ICEED - 2019-2024). She has experience in Population Ecology, Life History, and Restoration Ecology. Mariana has authored over 30 articles (h-index: 13; i10: 16; over 1,700 citations) and advised over 40 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students. She also works on two outreach projects that promote women in ecology (@mulheres_na_ecologia) and the inclusion of minorities in graduate programs (@preparaeco_ufrj).
