This study was conducted at St. Kizito clinic, Lekki, Lagos state with regards to malaria diagnosis on high risk groups that can contract malaria. This group includes pregnant women and children less than five years. Malarial diagnosis can done using Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) which is faster and more convenient than Microscopy and can give results in 15minutes. The study was done using pLDH based RDT kit which detected malaria parasite. Results from RDT kit was compared with microscopy.

Environmental pollution is an issue in our Society and this can be monitored by Biological method with use of animals as Bioindicators and/ or Bioaccumulators. The effect of these chemicals over the period of the study has shown negative impact on the Snail, Planorbis corneus. Egg laying and survival rate reduced over time and accumulation of the heavy metals were seen in tissues of the digestive gland
