About me

Tolulope Odunola is a Water Resources Engineer and Postdoctoral Researcher, currently investigating the co-evolution of human-natural systems (specifically, multipurpose reservoirs constructed for a wide range of uses, including crop irrigation, flood control and water supply) and the design of evidence-based adaptation policies under changing climate and socio-economic conditions. She has been actively involved in development project planning with multidisciplinary teams, aiming to provide stakeholders and decision-makers in the water sector with robust analytical frameworks, tools, and decision metrics for confident water investment decisions under uncertainty. She has worked with both engineering professionals and academics locally and internationally, and across multiple institutions including the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the World Bank and Deltares. She is passionate about impacting human lives and improving social welfare, one sustainable water project investment at a time.

She graduated from the premier University of Ibadan in 2018, with a first-class degree in Civil Engineering. Afterwards, she proceeded to earn her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering (Water Systems Analysis Focus) at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, in 2022 and 2025 respectively.

As a water systems analyst, she has ample experience in robust decision making, water resources planning and adaptation under uncertainty, climate-responsive economic evaluation, spatial and distributional equity considerations in water project assessment amongst others. She has been actively involved in development project planning with multidisciplinary teams, aiming to provide stakeholders and decision-makers in the water sector with robust analytical frameworks, tools, and decision metrics for confident water investment decisions under uncertainty.

Dr Odunola is a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (MNIEE) and the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (MAPWEN). She is also a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Water Works Association, Ohio Chapter (OAWWA). She has worked with engineering professionals and academics in Nigeria and abroad, and across multiple institutions, including the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the World Bank and Deltares. She remains passionate about impacting human lives and improving social welfare, one sustainable water project investment at a time.
